This yoga mat surface is made of cork and is heat pressed to the natural tree rubber base, carefully considering the environment by eliminating the need for toxic glues or chemicals. The tree rubber is gently extracted from the rubber tree in a process just like a maple tree might be tapped. The tree is not stressed or killed in the process making this an incredible sustainable process. The cork bark is stripped off the cork oak tree without damaging the tree allowing it to live on average up to 250 years.
We take pride in ensuring our yoga mats are packaged in eco friendly boxes and avoid using plastics as much as possible.
